Work Life Balance

"Life is what happens when you're busy doing other things." John Lennon

This quote is a great insight - we can easily become so caught up in the activity and the details of life that we can forget to live.

If you constantly feel rushed you may not be able to effectively contribute to the lives of your partner, your children or your community.

That is of course, if you have the time to look for a partner, have children or be of benefit in your community!

By leading increasingly busy lives we often don't get the time to think about where we would like to be heading and what we would like to be doing.

We may feel like a ship rushing at full steam but without a clear idea of where its going or why.

Feel like you are constantly rushing, but not getting anywhere?

Do you need a magic wand that would help you fit everything into your day?

Would you like to have more time and space for you, your partner, children, friends or family?

You may be surprised to hear that the solution is not trying to make time, but making space.
Coaching can help you construct a life of balance and freedom and assist you in developing the skills to create meaningful "me-space" and permission to create "me-time" in order to be able to give more to the people and things in your life.
A Life Coach, can help you to bring your priorities into greater focus and help you to make space that allows you to concentrate on you.
· Do you consider yourself organised and successful, but feel controlled by your diary, your schedule and your phones?
· Do you often feel overwhelmed with the demands on you?
· Do you feel like you never seem to have enough time for yourself, your partner, your children, or the people that matter to you?
· Do you feel like you are rushing from one task to another without a sense of accomplishing anything?
· Would you like more time for you, to recharge yourself and do the things that you enjoy?
If you can relate to these questions you may be able to benefit from some Life Balance Coaching.
Your Coach may approach this in several ways.
One may be to do some values work where you take the time to identify the values that are most important to you and then use these values as a basis to prioritise your time.
If you are a 'process' person your Coach may recommend a book such as "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Steven Covey or, if you relate more to a contemplative lifestyle, maybe something like "Peace is Every Step" by Thich Nhat Hanh.
They may follow this up with something like trying to have five minutes of solitude twice a day - which is a component of our module Creating Satisfying Life Spaces®.

Life Balance Tools

If you are feeling the need to take some time out for yourself, you may want to ...
Reward yourself with something that is relaxing, renewing and preferably indulgent?
If you are a lady, why not book a massage, a facial - or both! Then go home to a bathroom replete with scented candles for a relaxing bubble bath?
If you are a gentleman, perhaps going for a long Friday lunch, a fishing trip with the guys, or tramping to a relaxing spot with your partner or family?
Both ladies and gents enjoy new books, magazines, movies, good coffee, wine (!) and watching videos with food and friends.
Coaching is not about a one-size-fits-all prescription.
Everyone is different because of gender, upbringing and culture - it's all about what works for you.
How would you like to reward yourself and take some time out?
After you have spoilt yourself a little why not look into some new and exciting ways to live your life through the life coaching experience?
If you're constantly getting lost in the rush, it's not because you don't have enough time, it is because you have not made space!

Are you constantly feeling tired, rushed and harassed?

2. if you do not know how to manage your time
a. you need to discover how to prioritise and organise your time - do some research, reading and thinking on the subject
